El Dorado Furniture gives your home that personal touch!
About El Dorado FurnitureSince 1967, El Dorado Furniture has provided South Florida homes with a wide selection of quality furniture with a customer-first philosophy. Owned and operated by three generations of the Capó family, El Dorado Furniture places the highest priority on constantly improving the shopping experience roots for even higher customer satisfaction. These roots of El Dorado Furniture reach back to the 1920s when founder Manuel Capó's father Simon traded farm goods for used furniture that he restored and sold in the Cuban province of Pinar del Río. After building his business into the family furniture chain Casa Capó, Simon Capó lost his properties after Fidel Castro came to power. In 1966, Manuel Capó and two of his sons, Luis and Carlos, fled Cuba in a sailboat named the "El Dorado." Seven months after obtaining political refugee status, Manuel Capó opened the first El Dorado Furniture location in Miami's Little Havana. With a $10,000 loan from the U.S. Small Business Administration, El Dorado Furniture began the expansion that would eventually help it become 1 of the top 50 furniture companies and 1 of the largest Hispanic-owned retail enterprises in the United States. |
